What do the cards do?

There are four different types of cards.

  • Player & Staff cards are the foundation of the game – you can’t play without them. Cards are grouped into colour-coded sets, and each set may need 2, 3, or 4 cards to complete. Some cards have two colours and can count towards two different sets. Medical Joker cards are wildcards and can be used in any set. To win, you need to complete three full Player & Staff sets.
  • Rugby Bucks are the in-game currency used to run your team. Start a pile of Rugby Bucks in front of you. Admin cards can also be used as Rugby Bucks, but once you add them to your Bucks pile, they can no longer be played as Admin cards.
  • Pay Day cards let you charge other managers Rugby Bucks. The amount you can charge is based on the Player & Staff cards you already have laid down on the table. The amount you can charge is shown on the Player & Staff cards next to the number of cards you have in the set on your table.
  • Admin cards help you manage (and disrupt) the game. Some allow you to swap or steal players, while others help you earn Rugby Bucks from other managers. Admin cards are played into a discard pile next to the draw pile once used.
